A Celebration of Black Dance, Music & Culture

SOULxAFL.png

SOUL is a dynamic dance experience celebrating the artistic legacy and cultural impact of Black Americans across generations. This electrifying program takes audiences on a journey through the transformative power of Black creativity, blending movement with the music, spirit, and soul of the past and present.

The evening opens with the deep-rooted power of gospel, featuring the uplifting sounds of Sounds of Blackness and the soulful resonance of Roberta Flack. From there, we transition into the bold and evocative Nina Simone Suite, where dance becomes a vessel for storytelling, resistance, and truth.

The second half explodes with the timeless rhythms of the late 1960s and 1970s, an era that revolutionized music and dance. As the grooves deepen, so does the connection between past and present, revealing how the beats, melodies, and movement of these decades continue to influence and inspire today’s artists.

Infused with lived experiences and cultural richness, SOUL bridges generations—honoring the resilience, innovation, and undeniable brilliance of Black artistry. With every step, note, and visual, we celebrate the past while embracing the creative spirit that propels us into the future.

Join us for a night of rhythm, soul, and storytelling—where history moves, and the groove never stops.
